David Eugene Henry (American, b. 1946)

David Eugene Henry (American, b. 1946)

Torso. Sanguine on handmade cotton paper. Signed on the right forearm, “D. Henry”. 17 x 12 1/2 in. (34.2 x 31.7 cm) Notes: Born in Rome, Georgia in 1946, David Eugene Henry is an American painter, sculptor, and architect known for combining the classical aesthetics of the Italian High Renaissance with the sensuality of the Physique Photography movement. After working in New York City for over 30 years, the artist moved to Palm Springs, sharing models with many of the other gay artists and photographers of the area, such as F. Valentine Hooven III and Jim French of Colt Studios. These figurative artists worked in the same way as art history's most important artists have, with a shared and sometimes competing interest, in the same courtesans as models. Condition Nothing adverse to note. For further condition details or additional images, please contact info@vallots.com
