David Law Photographer-Artist – Creator of contemporary images Multidisciplinary photographic artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of image in the urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Subsequently intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relation to illusion and projection. New series – Walls of legends This series pays tribute to iconic figures who have left their mark on history, music, cinema and popular culture. Each portrait, reduced to the essential, captures in a few powerful contrasts an identity immediately recognizable. Created with contemporary digital tools and then transposed into a stencil aesthetic, the works belong to the street art tradition, balancing spontaneity and mastery of gesture. Deep black tones and raw surfaces evoke direct intervention on the wall, while imperfections and textures strengthen their urban character. Between collective memory and visual expression, this series offers a timeless reading of icons who continue to inhabit our imagination. Edition & Fabrication Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Prints are produced on aluminum with an integrated rear mounting. Printing on bright white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, great longevity, color stability, and a modern, contemporary look. Career Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the designated photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. In parallel with his visual activity, he develops a body of work as an author and musician, including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he is currently performing with the band FRENZY.
