David Law Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary images Multidisciplinary photographic artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of image in urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Later intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a disturbing, almost lifelike presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection. New series – Walls of legends This series pays homage to iconic figures who have left their mark on history, music, cinema and popular culture. Each portrait, reduced to essentials, captures in a few powerful contrasts an identity instantly recognizable. Realized with contemporary digital tools and then transposed into a stencil-like aesthetic, the works sit within the tradition of street art, between spontaneity and mastery of gesture. The deep black and raw surfaces evoke direct intervention on the wall, while imperfections and textures reinforce their urban character. Between collective memory and visual expression, this series offers a timeless reading of the icons who continue to inhabit our imagination. Edition & Fabrication Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with integrated back mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, guaranteeing excellent durability, great longevity, color stability and a modern and contemporary rendering. Parcours Since 2014, David Law participates in about twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the dedicated photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. In parallel with his visual activity, he develops a body of work as author and musician, including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
