David Law - Crypto Lou Reed

Special Series Crypto Rock David Law Photographer Artist – Creator of Contemporary Images Multidisciplinary photographic artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence and perception of the image in urban space. He first made himself known by a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This research around gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later, drawn to the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, challenging our relationship to illusion and projection. New series – Echo Waves / Echo Visions - A new reading of cultural icons The Echo Waves / Echo Visions series offers a contemporary reinterpretation of cultural icons through an immersive and vibrant pop art aesthetic. Each work rests on a mosaic construction composed of thousands of micro-graphic compositions. From afar, the image reveals a recognizable figure, while up close it unveils a richness of visual details. Each fragment acts as a “wave,” evoking the artist's universe of the subject represented. The creation process is long and demanding, requiring precision and mastery of graphic tools. An in-depth work is carried out on colors, light and the overall harmony of the image. Everything is created in an original and independent way. Edition & Manufacture Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are made on aluminum with an integrated rear mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, guaranteeing excellent durability, great longevity, color stability and a modern, contemporary rendering. Background / Parcours Since 2014, David Law has participated in about twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual activity, he develops a writer and musician career including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
