David Law Artist Photographer – Creator of contemporary images Multidisciplinary photographer and artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first made himself known through a series devoted to window dressers, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Subsequently intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a striking, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection. New series – Echo Waves / Echo Visions - A new reading of cultural icons The Echo Waves / Echo Visions series offers a contemporary rereading of cultural icons through an immersive and vibrant pop art aesthetic. Each work rests on a mosaic construction made up of thousands of micro-graphic compositions. From afar, the image reveals a recognizable figure, while up close it reveals a wealth of visual details. Each fragment acts like a “wave,” evoking the artistic universe of the represented subject. The creative process is long and demanding, requiring precision and mastery of graphic tools. A thorough work is carried out on colors, light and the overall harmony of the image. Everything is created in an original and independent way. Edition & Production Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with integrated rear mounting. Printing on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with UV- and humidity-resistant soft lamination, guaranteeing excellent durability, long-term color stability and a modern, contemporary rendering. Profile Since 2014, David Law participates in around twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the official photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. In parallel with his visual activity, he develops an authorial and musical practice including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
