ew Series – Lost Souls David Law Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary images Multidisciplinary photographic artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of image in urban space. He first made himself known with a series devoted to storefront display mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This research on gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later intrigued by the distinctive aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a disturbing, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection. New Series – Lost Souls With this series, David Law dives into stripped-down, dark universes, inhabited by phantom silhouettes suspended in space. These indistinct, almost erased presences wander through strange landscapes where emptiness becomes matter. Through a visual language constructed with contemporary graphic tools, the artist explores the notions of isolation, trace and memory. A silent journey, at the borders of the visible and the invisible. Edition & Production Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are made on aluminum with a built-in back mount. Printed on bright white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with a soft UV- and humidity-resistant laminate, ensuring excellent durability, long-term color stability and a modern, contemporary rendering. Profile Since 2014, David Law participates in around twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the official photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual activity, he develops a authorial and musical body of work including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the band FRENZY.
