ew Series – Lost Souls David Law Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary images Multidisciplinary photographic artist, author, and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence, and the perception of the image in urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This inquiry into gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later, he was struck by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, and he extended this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light, and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection. New Series – Lost Souls With this series, David Law delves into pure, dark universes inhabited by suspended ghostly silhouettes. These indistinct, almost erased presences wander through strange landscapes where emptiness becomes matter. Through a visual language built with contemporary graphic tools, the artist explores the notions of isolation, trace, and memory. A silent journey, on the border between the visible and the invisible. Edition & Production Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies plus 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with a built-in rear hanger. Printed on bright white vinyl, laminated between two aluminum plates, with soft UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, long-term stability of colors, and a modern, contemporary look. Career Since 2014, David Law participates in about twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the appointed photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual work, he develops an authorial and musical career including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a comic book, a photobook, and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
