David Law - Magic Mirror II

January 2025 - New Series - Animated cartoons and comics Artistic collaboration between David Law and L.A French David Law, musician, author and photographer, has been developing for over 20 years series around his favorite themes: the placement of mannequins in shop windows, Japanese angels, and Korean dolls in the cities he passes through. He turns to graphic design to create crypto-rocks, a gallery of portraits of icons made from photos of the artists represented. He participates in several circuits of contemporary art fairs where he exhibits and for which he produces photo and video reports. He collaborates with L.A French on a series dedicated to the pin-ups of the future, in a universe close to Star Wars, for which he applies his experience as a graphic designer using Photoshop tools. L.A French is a musician and illustrator-artist for several years. “The Space Pin-ups” combine the retro and timeless charm of 1950s/60s pin-ups with technological and science-fiction motifs familiar to the public. Inspired by a family passion for pin-ups and his fascination with futuristic worlds, supported by an AI for image research, reinterpreted, mixed, and deeply illustrated with graphic tools (Photoshop, XP-pen Artist 24 Pro graphic tablet), he creates a style where the past meets the future. These two artists join forces to invite you to dive into an artistic universe where seduction meets the infinity of possibilities, where pin-ups sail among the stars and distant galaxies. They are now working on a new series: Animated cartoons and comics Edition & Manufacture Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with integrated rear mounting. Printing on bright white vinyl, laminated between two aluminum plates, with soft UV-resistant and moisture-resistant lamination, guaranteeing excellent durability, long-term resistance, color stability, and a modern, contemporary rendering. Outline Since 2014, David Law participates in about twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the appointed photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual activity, he develops work as an author and musician including 3 novels, 1 collection of short stories, 1 graphic novel, 1 photo book, and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
