ew series – Multiplicity David Law Contemporary image photographer – Creator of contemporary imagery Multidisciplinary photographer, artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Later, intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models gain a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection. New series – Multiplicity Multiplicity explores the demultiplication of a feminine silhouette to infinity. Repeated, superimposed and absorbed by backlight, the figures become a moving graphic material. Faces disappear, leaving only bodies, shadows and lines. A hypnotic vision where the individual transforms into a multitude. Edition & Fabrication Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with integrated back-mounting. Printing on luminous white vinyl, popped between two aluminum plates, with flexible UV- and moisture-resistant lamination, guaranteeing excellent durability, great resistance over time, color stability and a modern, contemporary appearance. Parcours Since 2014, David Law participates in about twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the official photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. In parallel with his visual work, he develops authorial work and music, including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photography book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
