David Law Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary images Multidisciplinary photographic artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on the gaze, presence, and perception of images in urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series devoted to window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light, and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection. New Series – Echo Waves / Echo Visions - A new reading of cultural icons The Echo Waves / Echo Visions series offers a contemporary re-reading of cultural icons through an immersive and vibrant pop art aesthetic. Each work is built as a mosaic composed of thousands of micro-graphic fragments. From a distance, the image reveals a recognizable figure, while up close it unveils a richness of visual details. Each fragment acts like a “wave,” evoking the artistic universe of the subject represented. The creation process is long and demanding, requiring precision and mastery of graphic tools. A thorough work is carried out on colors, light, and the overall harmony of the image. Everything is created in an original and independent way. Edition & Manufacturing Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies plus 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with a built-in rear mount. Printing on bright white vinyl, backed between two aluminum plates, with a soft UV- and moisture-resistant laminate, guaranteeing excellent durability, great longevity, color stability, and a modern, contemporary rendering. parcours Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual activity, he develops authorial and musical work including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book, and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
