David Law - The Dreamed Shadows VI

ew Series – The Dreamed Shadows Photographer Artist – Creator of Contemporary Imaging Multidisciplinary photographer-artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost lifelike presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection. New Series – The Dreamed Shadows The Dreamed Shadows explore the boundary between presence and disappearance. A female silhouette is traced through backlit veils, forming an image that seems both real and dreamt.
