Crypto Movie Series - Reconstructing a photo using photographs of the represented artist. Photographer-Artist – Creator of Contemporary Images Multidisciplinary photographer-artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of image in urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later, drawn to the singular aesthetics of vintage dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light, and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, prompting reflection on our relationship to illusion and projection. New Series – Echo Waves / Echo Visions - A new reading of cultural icons The Echo Waves / Echo Visions series offers a contemporary re-reading of cultural icons through an immersive and vibrant pop art aesthetic. Each work rests on a mosaic construction composed of thousands of micro-graphic compositions. From a distance, the image reveals a recognizable figure, while up close it reveals a richness of visual details. Each fragment acts as an “onda,” evoking the artistic universe of the subject represented. The creation process is long and demanding, requiring precision and mastery of graphic tools. A thorough study is conducted on colors, light and the overall harmony of the image. Everything is created in an original and independent manner. Edition & Manufacture Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies plus 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are made on aluminum with a built-in rear mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, backed between two aluminum plates, with a soft UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, long-term resistance, color stability and a modern, contemporary rendering. Career Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the official photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual activity, he develops a writer/artist and musician career, including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photobook and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the band FRENZY.
