Original work by Anke de Boer, a famous Dutch illustrator to whom we owe a very large number of illustrations and drawings within the MARTEN TOONDER studios. She worked in the studio in the 1950s and 1960s. She is well listed in the studio personnel records as an illustrator. She more specifically worked on the Kappie Hollewijn series, of which she was one of the main illustrators. Unfortunately, at the time, women were not given prominence and despite her great contribution inside the studio, she was never highlighted as she should have been and her work remains today little known to the general public.
