Decorative bell - Gospodin Veliki Novgorod - Russia - Veliky Novgorod 1125 Year

A bronze bell, measuring circa 11cm in height and weighing 802g, inscribed with embossed Cyrillic text commemorating the 1125 years of existence of the town of Novgorod, one of the oldest towns in Russia (the first mention of the town is in the Sofia Chronicle with date 859), alongside the 1984 Soviet war film Gospodin Veilky Novgorod, a movie about the partisan defence of the town of Novgorod in 1941. According to the story, the partisans manage to move all the historical treasures out of the town before the German invaders arrive, including the two huge bells from the belfry of the cathedral. Condition: Very good, no damages or repairs. Minor wear commensurate with age. Traces of gilding. This lot will be carefully packaged and sent by registered and insured mail.
