All auctions / Lighting / Decorative ornament - Balkan

The basis of this object is an original, hand-carved dvojnice (a traditional double shepherd’s flute from the Balkan region, probably Croatia, Bosnia, or Serbia). The instrument is crafted from a single piece of wood and richly decorated with fine geometric woodcarving and traditional sun motifs. This wind instrument has been creatively transformed into a rustic wind chime or wall decoration. At the bottom, six patinated metal bells are mounted on chains in stepped lengths. The labium holes and the double air passages of the flute are still fully intact and visible. A highly decorative collectible object. Condition: In good vintage condition with a nice age patina on the metal and wood. Note: the object has been altered and is therefore intended as decoration, no longer as a functional musical instrument. Dimensions & Weight: Height (excl. chain): 25 cm Total height (incl. hanging chain): 30 cm Width: 32 cm Depth: 2 cm Weight: 688 grams. The lot will be packed with utmost care and shipped registered and insured with track & trace. Pickup is also possible by arrangement.
