Decorative wooden shooting target – colorful diamond-pattern display in a folkloristic style A wall object with a playful character and a striking color palette. This round wooden disc shows a bearded rider with a black hat and a bright orange-red coat, seated on a stylized horse. The white target with black concentric circles forms the graphic centerpiece of the scene. The turquoise background is richly adorned with green curls, leaves and dots. At the bottom, an orange-red flower adds an extra color accent, while the red outer rim beautifully frames the scene. The simplified shapes and expressive details lend the whole piece the charm of folkloristic imagery. The piece refers to the tradition of painted shooting targets, in which recognizable figures, animals and decorative scenes were combined with a target. In this specimen, the decorative appearance is central. Visible wear and an irregular surface give the disc a well-used character.
