As antique jewelry dealers, our love of antique objects means that we occasionally also buy unmounted gemstones. After all, every historical diamond is an unmistakable one-off with its very own character. However, the search for beautiful settings for our diamonds turned out to be more difficult than expected. Modern ready-made settings, as you can buy them in stores, are often soulless machine products with no feeling for shape and proportion. But beautiful, hand-forged, antique settings rarely come to us without matching diamonds. So we commissioned our goldsmith to make a ring setting according to our design, which we then had cast using an old technique. We had this ring made from high-carat yellow gold and used historical gold for this. The diamond that we had set in the setting is impressive due to its individuality. It is a stone weighing 0.74 ct in slightly tinted white (J). Only small inclusions (si) testify to its natural origin. The stone was cut in the "Old European Cut" at the end of the 19th century. Two small diamonds in delicate ornaments with milgrains structure the ring shoulders and give the piece its light elegance, which beautifully sets off the large brilliant-cut diamond. At the same time, the piece of jewellery sparkles with every ray of light that hits its finely crafted surfaces. The ring can also be worn every day thanks to its high-quality, durable materials and flat design. An ideal ring for what is probably the most important question in life - and that is always a matter of the heart!
