As antique jewelry dealers, our love for antique objects occasionally leads us to purchase loose gemstones as well. After all, every historic diamond is a one-of-a-kind piece with its own unique character. However, finding beautiful settings for our diamonds proved more difficult than we had anticipated. Modern ready-made settings, such as those available in stores, are often soulless, mass-produced items lacking any sense of form or proportion. Yet beautiful, hand-forged antique settings rarely come to us without matching diamonds. So we commissioned our goldsmith to craft a ring setting based on our design, which we then had cast using traditional techniques. We crafted this ring from high-karat yellow gold, using historical gold for this purpose. This ring now features a vintage brilliant-cut diamond. It weighs 0.57 carats and shines brightly. It has been graded by an independent authority as exceptional white (D), the highest color grade for white diamonds, and shows only minor inclusions that are barely visible even under a loupe (VS1). Two smaller diamonds in delicate settings with milgrains adorn the ring’s shoulders, lending the piece a light elegance that beautifully showcases the large brilliant-cut diamond. At the same time, the piece of jewellery sparkles with every ray of light that hits its finely crafted surfaces. Thanks to its high-quality, durable materials and its flat design, the ring is also suitable for everyday wear. An ideal ring for what is arguably the most important question in life—and that is, after all, always a matter of the heart!
