Dendrites of Psilomelane Slice - Height: 31 cm - Width: 18 cm- 1.52 kg - (1)

Magnificent slice of limestone from Solnhofen, Bavaria, a locality famous for its Upper Jurassic limestones. The broad cream-colored surface is crossed by a striking arrangement of Psilomelane dendrites, developed along the natural discontinuities of the rock. The branches are dense and well defined and take on shapes reminiscent of trees, ferns, and small vegetative landscapes, creating a natural, highly captivating pattern. The dark tones of the dendrites contrast sharply with the light limestone background and are accompanied in some areas by brownish and rust-colored hues attributable to the presence of iron oxides. The distribution of mineralizations covers a large part of the surface and makes the specimen particularly pleasing to observe even in its detail. The generous size of the slice and the very evident development of the dendrites give it a strong visual impact, suitable for both a mineral collection and display. Origin: Solnhofen, Bavaria, Germany Weight: 1.517 kg Dimensions: 31 × 18 × 1.5 cm The photographs are an integral part of the description.
