DENMARK. Ducat, 1687. Copenhagen Mint. Christian V. NGC MS-64.

Breathtakingly Beautiful, Enigmatic and Excessively Rare Ducat DENMARK. Ducat, 1687. Copenhagen Mint. Christian V. NGC MS-64. Fr-153; KM-387; Hede-18; Sieg-90; Schou-4; Bruun-7032. Weight: 3.26 gms. Mintmaster: Gregorius Sesemann (GS). A near Gem Mint State exemplar with a breathtaking luster surrounding the lightly mat devices. On this enigmatic striking, of which this specimen is by far the best of only two in private ownership, no actual year is visible, only faint traces of the numbers 1, 6, and 8. For stylistic reasons and due to the mintmaster's initials, the type is assumed to have been struck in 1687. Estimate: €10,000 - €15,000. Provenance: From the L.E. Bruun Collection.
