DENMARK. Gold Off-Metal Strike 12 Skilling, 1711. Copenhagen Mint. Frederik IV. NGC AU Details--Test Cut. Fr-unlisted; KM-495 (silver); Hede-43A (silver); Sieg-9 (silver); Schou-9a; Bruun-7373 Weight: 6.79 gms. Mintmaster: Christian Wineke, the Younger (CW). The small test mark located on the very edge detracts nothing from the fact that this is a lovely and well-struck specimen with a fine mint luster. Extremely rare, and struck to the weight of a Double Ducat. Quite unusually, the denomination is indicated neither by Arabic nor Roman numerals, but is instead written out in Danish using capital letters: TOLF (twelve). Estimate: €8,000 - €10,000. Provenance: From the L.E. Bruun Collection. To view supplemental information and all items from the L.E. Bruun Collection, click here. Please note: Bid amounts do not include VAT. Buyers which are non-VAT registered entities or individuals who take delivery of lots within EU countries subject to margin scheme taxation will be invoiced a VAT charge and a Buyer’s Premium for a total of 27.5% based upon the total amount of the hammer.
