DENMARK. Penny, ND (1047-75). Roskilde Mint. Svend II Estridsen. NGC AU-55. Hauberg-39a; Hauberg Collection -; Moltke-447; Bruun-1900. Weight: 1.04 gms. Moneyer: Suen (?). Presumably a unique variant, with a largely garbled runic inscription which nevertheless appears to hint at the personal name Svend; this, however, could represent either the name of the king or that of a moneyer. Estimate: €1,200 - €1,600. Provenance: From the L.E. Bruun Collection. Ex: Countship of Brahesminde Collection (Private Sale - 1922). To view supplemental information and all items from the L.E. Buyers which are non-VAT registered entities or individuals who take delivery of lots within EU countries subject to margin scheme taxation will be invoiced a VAT charge and a Buyer’s Premium for a total of 27.5% based upon the total amount of the hammer.
