This imposing hand-knotted designer rug from Pakistan combines the aesthetics of classic Oriental carpets with an elegant, contemporary color palette in a vintage design. Its generous dimensions and finely worked ornament give it a particularly representative presence. The design is defined by a centrally placed floral medallion that subtly stands out from the light, softly heathered base. An elaborately designed wide border with floral scrolls, palmettes, and blossom motifs frames the calm inner field. The deliberately restrained central pattern creates an appealing contrast to the detailed edge. Color-wise, elegant cream, beige, ivory, gray-green, and light gray-green tones predominate, complemented by muted blue-gray and charcoal. This soft palette makes the classic ornamentation appear especially noble and at the same time pleasantly restrained.
