Dessert service (25) - Brass

A stunning and highly atmospheric 25-piece French dessert or pastry cutlery set from the Art Deco period (circa the 1930s). This set exudes the authentic ambiance of a classic French bistro. The cutlery is made of gold-colored brass (or bronze) with graceful ornaments at the junction, beautifully paired with the iconic coral-red/orange handles of early plastic (bakelite or galalith). The set is unique because it is completely complete for 12 people and includes the original dessert spoon: • 12 dessert knives / pastry knives, length 17 cm. • 12 dessert forks / pastry forks, length 16 cm, • 1 matching, richly engraved dessert spoon, length 25 cm. Cassette 37 by 24 cm. Condition: The set is in a beautiful vintage condition with a fitting, light patina on the brass. As is often the case with this type of early plastic, one fork has a vertical hairline crack in the red handle (see the clear close-up photo). The remaining pieces are in good and sturdy condition. Note: This unique historic cutlery may only be washed by hand to preserve the materials. An absolute showpiece for an elegantly laid high tea, the Christmas dinner, or as a valuable addition for the Art Deco collector. Will be shipped traceably or pickup.
