Devotional lamp - Cross under bell shade - 23 cm - Plastic - 1960-1970

Original desk devotional lamp from the 1960s, conceived as an illuminated representation of a monumental cross under a protective dome. The piece combines traditional religious aesthetics with the modern materials characteristic of mid-20th-century decorative production, giving rise to an object with strong symbolic presence and a distinctly retrospective character. The composition features a cross elevated on a stepped pedestal set in a rocky relief-scene, evoking Mount Calvary. The interior illumination highlights the volumes of the ensemble and creates a warm chiaroscuro effect that enhances the contemplative character of the piece. The entire group is protected by a transparent dome that enhances its reliquary or devotional display-case appearance. The black base is one of the most representative elements of the era. Its polished surface and stepped profile reflect the taste for noble synthetic materials that gained great popularity during the central decades of the 20th century. The contrast between the glossy black and the light tones of the interior scene provides visual balance and elegance to the whole. Beyond its function as a lamp, it is an interesting decorative and collectible object that brings together spirituality, design, and home technology of the sixties. Ideal for collectors of religious art, objects of popular cult, or pieces made of Bakelite, it retains the distinctive appeal of the ambient lighting characteristic of the era. The piece shows a good overall state of conservation, with signs of use and aging in line with its age. As befits a vintage luminaire, it is advisable to check the electrical installation and wiring before continued use to ensure safe operation. An attractive example of mid-20th-century illuminated devotional production, capable of lending personality, history, and a singular decorative value to any collection. Tracked shipping and careful packing.
