Dick Bruna - “Thoughtful Miffy”.

Dick Bruna: “Thoughtful Miffy”. Condition: the work is in excellent condition. Miffy was conceived by the Dutch graphic artist Dick Bruna, who was born in 1927 — the year of the rabbit according to the Japanese zodiac. In 1955, during a rainy seaside holiday in the Netherlands, Dick Bruna amused his young son by sketching a tame rabbit that hopped around in the garden of their holiday home. Before bedtime he invented stories about the bunny, and thus the character Miffy (Nijntje in the original Dutch) was born. The Miffy stories have now been published in more than 50 languages and more than 85 million copies have been sold. Miffy has its own TV series - Miffy and Friends - and toys and merchandise are sold on five continents. Dick Bruna has published 124 picture books to date, of which 30 are about Miffy. Over the years Bruna has illustrated more than 2,000 book covers and more than 100 posters. Never framed and kept in a dark archival storage area between protective acid-free paper. The photos shown are part of the description, the shown list (size) is for illustration and is not attached.
