Dirk Bakker (1947-2021) - "Dora & Pinokkio"

- Oil on canvas. Original canvas. Review on the back about the artist. Hand-signed. Attached to the image gallery is a rare photograph of the author with his work. - With Dirk Bakker’s passing into immortality, the plastic firmament loses one of its most extraordinary and pure souls, a devoted demiurge who turned existence into a priesthood of color and fantasy. An illustrious member of the collective “Samen Sterk” and an indispensable pillar of Alkmaar’s cultural life, Bakker made his studio a lyrical shrine where painting materials and canvases piled up like temple treasures, giving rise to a universe with a unmistakable aura of creatures straddling humanity, playthings, and fairy-tale myth. His painting, celebrated in community centers, galleries like De Buitenkans — where his iconic 2011 work now guards with a tutelary aura the De Trog tea room — private collections and museums, always functioned as an oracle of bright light capable of pouring joy and sacred intrigue upon all who gazed upon his work. Although earthly forces finally pulled him away from the easels, the legacy of this master of innocence and mystery transcends human finitude, remaining eternally alive as an irreplaceable testament to his genius and goodness. - Image dimensions unframed: 50 x 50 cm / 55 x 55 cm with exclusive custom frame. The Warranty Certificate includes full details about the piece, such as its author, creation date, technique used, and dimensions. The digital Warranty Certificate will be issued upon the client’s request, providing an official reference for the acquired piece.
