Dish (6) - Porcelain - Coalport Regency – 6 plates

Refined pieces of English porcelain, attributed to the prestigious Coalport manufactory, dating to the early 19th century, circa 1810–1820, the Regency period, an authentic expression of English neoclassical taste. An ensemble of great elegance and collectible interest, characterized by an exceptionally rich gilded decoration. The broad rim features a refined geometric Greek-key motif on a salmon-pink ground, while the inner surface is adorned with a meticulous gold vermicelli decoration, also known as the seaweed pattern. At the center of each plate stands a purple medallion with various classical-inspired figures, painted in white in a cameo-like effect, evoking Greco-Roman art and the antiquarian taste widespread in European Grand Tour circles. The extraordinary ornamental richness, the luminosity of the gilding, and the harmonious color palette make this set particularly striking—ideal for enhancing an antique shop display, an elegant dining room, or for creating a refined wall-mounted decorative composition. Instances of the same type are documented with prominent international antiques dealers and on specialized platforms such as Chairish and 1stDibs. The lot comprises 6 plates, each with a diameter of 21 cm and a height of 2.5 cm. Generally good condition for the period, with natural signs of time and slight wear to the gilding. A single plate shows a visible hairline on the reverse side only, which does not compromise the overall display beauty of the set. Photographs are an integral part of the description.
