An elegant antique Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) pewter decorative tray / catch-all dish (vide-poche), dating from the turn of the 20th century (circa 1900). The tray features a beautifully executed, high-relief organic design typical of the era: a prominent embossed dragonfly resting amidst stylized river reeds and whipping water ripples. The fluid lines and natural themes perfectly represent European Jugendstil movements. The overall craftsmanship, design language, and shape draw heavy inspiration from the famous German Art Nouveau foundries such as Osiris (Walter Scherf & Co.) and Kayserzinn.
