All auctions / Ethnographical / Djenné clay pot - Djenné - Djenné - Mali

This earthenware jar was bequeathed by my grandfather; it was tested and authenticated by thermoluminescence in 2008 by Olivier Langevin. It originates from Africa, Mali, Djenné culture. Dating between the 12th and 16th centuries AD (XII–XVI). 42.5 cm in height. Regarding import, I have no additional information; I received it after my grandfather’s death. And it was dated at my request in 2008. Normally at that period there were no particular restrictions; I don’t know more about this jar, but I have owned it only since 2008, my grandfather never spoke to me about it and I didn’t even know he had an ancient African jar before receiving it. If this information is not sufficient I’m sorry, but I don’t have any more.
