Djennenke head - Figure - Dogon - Mali

A fantastic Djennenke head from Mali; its size is incredible, and a great deal of material has been removed from the face. It features the rectangular scarifications on the temples typical of Djennenke statuary. The patina is incredible. I can guarantee that this important object is a masterpiece of African art.
