Dominique Kleiner - HERMÈS – Jardin Impérial – Échiquier...

Hermès – Imperial Garden – Baroque Art Chessboard – Prestige Edition 2/10 – KLEINER Dominique An exceptional encounter between the art of gaming, French elegance and baroque refinement. The French artist Dominique KLEINER, based in Fécamp in Normandy, presents an exceptional creation: an art chessboard inspired by the prestigious world of Hermès, where the richness of ornaments, the depth of imperial green and the brilliance of gilding compose a work of great elegance. The aluminum board reveals a refined botanical composition, blending emerald green and ivory checkers, delicate botanical motifs and gilded finishes. The pieces, created by the artist in resin and then entirely hand-painted, are distinguished by their sumptuous Baroque reliefs. Each arabesque, each crown and every ornamental detail undergoes meticulous work of colorization, patination and finishing. Two camps with precious harmonies stand opposite each other: imperial green and antique gold on one side, white pearl and gildings on the other. A subtle contrast that emphasizes the finesse of the sculpture and gives this ensemble a true artistic presence. A rare edition, intended for collectors. This chessboard bears the number 1 of an edition strictly limited to 10 copies. Its realization requires many hours of artisanal work, notably for painting its 32 carved and richly ornamented pieces. Far beyond its function as a game, this set has been conceived as a true decorative artwork, capable of finding its place in a refined interior, a prestige office or a private collection.
