Originally recorded in 1966, this highly regarded British jazz album is considered one of the finest recordings by the Don Rendell / Ian Carr Quintet, combining modern jazz, modal influences and excellent small-group interplay. The lineup features Don Rendell on tenor and soprano saxophone, flute and clarinet, Ian Carr on trumpet and flugelhorn, Michael Garrick on piano, Dave Green on bass and Trevor Tomkins on drums. This Japanese edition is a particularly attractive collector's copy and comes complete with the original insert. The album includes highlights such as Ruth, Tan Samfu, Jubal and the atmospheric title track Dusk Fire. Condition: Cover Front NM, back has some foxing.
