Farbaquatintaradierung mit Prägedruck auf Velin. Unten links mit Bleistift nummeriert „40/40“, mittig betitelt „DIDONC“, unten rechts handsigniert „dorny“ Bildmaß ca. 40 x 30 cm. Rahmen, 70 x 55 cm. | DORNY, BERTRAND (1931–2015), “Didonc” Color aquatint etching with embossed printing on Velin paper. Pencil-numbered “40/40” at lower left, titled “DIDONC” in the center, and hand-signed “dorny” at lower right. Image size approx. 40 × 30 cm. Framed, 70 × 55 cm. In the work “Didonc,” Bertrand Dorny once again demonstrates his masterful command of relief and aquatint printing. The work is dominated by a dynamic composition of cool light blue, deep reed green, and a striking geometric field of bright red. Particularly noteworthy is the work’s exceptional tactile quality: Dorny combines sharply defined, relief-embossed edges with organically textured surfaces in the green field. These subtle raised areas in the paper catch and reflect the light in a unique way, giving the abstract work a perceptible three-dimensional quality. With a small edition of only 40 copies, this print represents a particularly fine example of Dorny’s experimental graphic work. Good condition consistent with age, with rich colors and pronounced embossing. The protective glass shows slight signs of condensation or moisture on the inside in the lower area (above the green field); upon visual inspection, the print itself appears unaffected.
