Rare original edition of this medical and scientific work devoted to the application of chemical principles to the study of diseases, in order to better understand the alterations that affections cause in the human organism - The author seeks to demonstrate that pathological phenomena can be analyzed through the chemical changes observed in tissues, organs and body fluids, and that examining these transformations constitutes an essential means to deepen medical knowledge - The work begins with a presentation of the foundations of animal chemistry and chemical physiology, describing the composition of the main constitutive elements of the human body, notably blood, lymph, secretions, excretions, muscular tissues, bones and internal organs - It studies in detail the composition of blood in various pathological states, examining variations of its constituents, changes affecting its coagulation, its color, its density and the substances it transports - Dr Sébastien-Didier L'Hébitier - Traité de chimie pathologique ou recherches chimiques sur les solides et les liquides du corps humain, dans leurs rapports avec la physiologie et la pathologie - 1842 - J. -B.
