Lot of beautiful collection of traditional wooden sculptures from different island cultures in Southeast Asia and the Pacific. Indonesia circa 1970-1980 • The left image is a hand-carved figure in the characteristic style of the Batak Toba culture from Sumatra, Indonesia. This type of carving is recognizable by the crouched or seated posture, the expressive, large bulging eyes and the two-tone finish of the wood. • The two right figures are traditional ancestor figures (Adu Zatua) from the island of Nias, Indonesia. Could also be Batak Toba. These figures show a male and female figure with the high, stepped head-torķa typical of the Nias style, a stylized beard or chin and a tight, symmetrical seated posture. Dimensions: listed with the photos. Condition: in good condition with minimal signs of use. Photos are part of the description. These were taken under artificial light; colors may vary. Atmosphere impressions are shown. The sculptures are well packaged and sent by registered mail. Jiljes where quality and service come first!
