His administrative despotism aroused the Estates of Brittany and the Parliament of Rennes against him - Letter signed "Le Duc d'AIGUILLON" from MORLAIX (Finistère) July 22, 1762. 1 page (23 x 18 cm): "I will examine with great pleasure, Sir, the works that the Community of QUINTIN wishes to be able to execute. For this purpose, I shall pass through this town on the 31st of this month on my way back from PONTIVY; I shall examine the road from QUINTIN to CHÂTELAUDREN (Côte d'Armor), and we shall then discuss both the objects concerning this first town and all the others on which we shall have to go into detail...".
