Very decorative decoy duck (lok eend), probably from the mid-20th century (could be slightly younger). It is a decoy duck with a fairly long neck: width 30 cm, height 19 cm, depth 12 cm and weight about 350 g. The painting is clear, but over time and under the influence of light, moisture and temperature in many places it has disappeared and faded (see photos). The head attachment is clearly visible. The bodies were often made separately, after which the head was attached. It was subsequently painted (this duck mainly in white tones). The signs of use are clearly visible (photos); the wood weathering is very prominent, and also very decorative! In several places the paint is still present but loose on the wood. This duck is clearly a lok eend (decoy duck) that has stood on a bottom and did not drift on water. Lok eenden used for display on water have a rounded bottom (like a boat). They also often have a ballast lead hanging underneath for stabilization. It is not certain whether this duck actually ever served as a decoy, but the weathering of the wood does point to that. It was probably made in the Netherlands and, in its current form, is extremely decorative; it is an ornament in any interior; a modern, but also a more classical interior. The duck (decoy duck) is carefully packed and shipped insured.
