Dutch school (XIX) - Portret van een jonge edelman in rijk gedecoreerd harnas

Beautifully painted portrait of a young nobleman in armor. The painting is in good condition with signs of aging and wear. Dimensions including frame 58x47 cm. Dimensions without frame 51x39 cm. Likely 19th century or older. Oil paint on panel with visible wood grain and a traditional panel construction. The painting is executed on a characterful, solid wooden panel with a traditional construction. The back side shows a pronounced wood grain, natural discolorations and visible signs of wood processing. The panel consists of several joined planks. Richly detailed portrait of a young nobleman, depicted in an exquisitely decorated armor with a lace collar and a warm orange-gold-colored sash. Particularly attractive is the painterly execution. The lace collar is built up with vivid, impasto brushstrokes, creating a beautiful relief. The dark armor shows subtle light reflections and decorative details, while the warm sash forms a beautiful color accent against the deep, subdued background.
