E. García - La bañera rosa XL

LA BAÑERA ROSA is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. This work depicts an intimate bath opened to the sea, where a freestanding pink bathtub occupies the center of the composition in front of a large window with open shutters. The marine horizon, visible from inside, transforms the everyday scene into an image of rest, freedom, and contemplation. The composition is organized through a frontal perspective that directs the gaze outward. The bathtub acts as the visual axis and establishes a gentle curve against the vertical geometry of the window. The open leaves frame the landscape as if it were a painting within the painting itself, while the line of the sea introduces depth and a sense of breadth that contrasts with the contained character of the room. Ernest García uses a delicate and luminous palette, dominated by dusty pinks, purples, aqua greens, turquoise blues, and yellow reflections. The warm tones of the walls and floor dialogue with the freshness of the seascape, creating a balanced and enveloping atmosphere. The pink bathtub, supported on ornamental legs, adds a vintage and elegant air, while the visible brushstrokes preserve spontaneity and the texture of contemporary painting. The sea is resolved through horizontal strokes of blue, green, and white that suggest the movement of waves and the glints of light. In front of this changing surface, the interior is built with broader brushstrokes and simplified color blocks. The absence of human figures intensifies the sense of quiet and allows imagining the scene as a private refuge facing the Mediterranean. The work shows affinities with Fauvism and Post-Impressionism for its chromatic freedom and for using color as an emotional generator. There are also echoes of Henri Matisse in the relationship between interior and open window, as well as of Pierre Bonnard in the intimacy of the domestic space and the sensorial atmosphere of the bath. The sea view introduces, moreover, a sensitivity close to the Mediterranean painting tradition and to vacation interior scenes. Beyond representing a room, La bañera rosa evokes well-being, disconnection, and the pleasure of inhabiting a space open to the landscape. The window turns the bath into a lookout, while the tub seems to invite stopping time and contemplating the light on the water. The work conveys serenity, romance, and an elegant sense of escape by the sea. La bañera rosa is especially appealing to collectors interested in contemporary figurative painting, vintage bathtubs, baths with sea views, Mediterranean interiors, open windows, marine landscapes, coastal architecture, pink decor, colorful art, Fauvism, Post-Impressionism, Henri Matisse, Pierre Bonnard, interior design, and Spanish contemporary painting.
