EARLY GREEK GEOMETRIC BRONZE CUP WITH QUADRUPED HANDLE

Ca. 800 - 700 BC. A bronze cup with a deep hemispherical bowl set on a low flaring foot and a straight rim. The handle is formed as a cast quadruped with an elongated body, slender legs, a long neck, projecting muzzle and pointed ears. Size: 150mm x 140mm; Weight: 550g Provenance: From a private British collection; ex I.H. collection, assembled since the 1970s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
