Earrings Made from Antique Cufflinks with Pearls & Onyx, From Our Workshop

The passage of time has brought about one change or another to many a piece of jewellery. Rings are resized, and brooches are reworked into pendants as fashion trends change. One transformation we see particularly often is the repurposing of antique shirt and cufflinks into earrings. Here, two such faces of a cufflink have been transformed into a pair of earrings in our workshop. These are English cufflinks from the 1920s made of gold and platinum. Each polished mother-of-pearl cup is set with an onyx disc, within which a natural pearl shimmers. On the outside, a platinum frame completes the design. Two large onyx pendants are attached at the bottom and can move freely. The contrast between the deep black of the onyx, the radiant white of the mother-of-pearl, and the warm tone of the gold is what gives these pieces their special charm. Simple gold hooks ensure the earrings stay securely in place on the ear.
