This extraordinary sphere made of fossil ammonites and orthoceratae is a true relic from the ancient world – a work of art that contains millions of years of Earth's history. Crafted from the petrified remains of ancient sea creatures, it reveals a new chapter from a long-vanished world with every turn. The fine, spiraling structures of the ammonites and the elegant, elongated forms of the orthocerates testify to a time when the Earth was still covered by endless oceans. In this polished sphere from the USA, these fossil witnesses are artfully united to create a harmonious interplay of black, gray, and white – a fascinating pattern that evokes cosmic galaxies. Each detail in this sphere is a imprint of life that existed about 400 million years ago. It links the magic of nature with the eternity of time and symbolizes the unceasing cycle of becoming and passing away. As a decorative object it draws all eyes – whether in living rooms, offices, or a collection. But it is much more than just an aesthetic eye-catcher: this sphere stands for stability, grounding, and the deep connection to the roots of life. It reminds us how precious and powerful the history of our planet is. Note: The shown stand is not included in the delivery. Stone: Natural sphere made of fossil ammonites and orthocerates Weight: 1804,47 g Size: 105mm Treatment: None Origin: USA It is a fossil wood dating back 200 million years, all parts from a log or branches have been silicified, meaning that organic components were little by little replaced by silicon in the form of jasper, chalcedony and more rarely opal. Without the organic parts, all the living matter was replaced by stone : there are growth rings, cell separations, almost like worm cracks. Its features are those of the mineral that would have pseudo-transformed the wood : the silicon. And that’s what we call a "petrified wood" in the common language. The disclaimer about the healing properties as previously given : It is believed that certain gemstones and minerals have beneficial health and spiritual properties.
