EGYPTIAN ALABASTER ALABASTRON

Ca. 600 - 100 BC. An alabaster alabastron with a globular body tapering to a rounded base, a narrow cylindrical neck and a broad, flat disc rim. Two opposed lug handles project from the shoulders. Size: 96mm x 70mm; Weight: 195g Provenance: Private collection; acquired in the mid 1980s - late 1990s; From the family collection of Mr. S.A. Switzerland, thence by descent Private collection since the late 1990s. (In Switzerland prior to the Swiss LTBC law of 2005). This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
