EGYPTIAN BRONZE DAGGER WITH LAPIS LAZULI HANDLE

Ca. 1300 - 900 BC. A bronze dagger with a long leaf-shaped blade tapering towards the point, a pronounced medial rib, and a rounded guard. The cylindrical lapis lazuli grip is set between moulded bronze collars and surmounted by a bulbous bronze pommel with disc mouldings and a knop finial. Size: 420mm x 60mm; Weight: 570g Provenance: From a private UK collection; ex R.A. collection, assembled since the 1970s.
