Electric fan - Metal - Marelli Valchiria 025/A

This historical Marelli fan has a body made of metal rather than cast iron and the shaft is positioned at the back of the base. The first model known to us was a 25 cm diameter (30 in in other versions) fan called Valchiria. It is the name of a woman from Norse mythology who could decide the fate of people during battles. Even more importantly, the connection with Norse mythology temporally correlates with Mussolini's rise to power. From this some observers have linked a certain sympathy that the Ercole Marelli company may have had for the dominant ideology of the time. The Valchiria model proved to have innovations not only in the redesigned body but also in the cage style and in the design of the three blades, which remain particularly unique and innovative even today. This model for sale is extremely rare due to its excellent condition and, above all, the olive green industrial color typical of the 1930s. It runs perfectly on all four speeds, is quiet, and with the crank to fix the direction of the airflow (it can be used in rotating or fixed mode). For the fan, only the cloth-covered wire, now crumbly and dangerous, was replaced, which often caused short circuits. The plug, beautiful, bears Marelli branding. It runs perfectly and silently. Our model is the 22 cm version (tip of the blades), manufactured in 1936, and it is the version that uses 160 V current (there were also 125 V and 220 V versions), therefore it should be used with a transformer, but after the opinion of a trusted electrician.
