Elegant and Graceful

The specimen, collected in the waters of the Philippines, shows a regular pattern of honey-colored bands and reticulations on a light background, with the surface finely ribbed which enhances its delicacy. The elongated shape, with a low-spired spire and an extended siphonal canal, gives the shell a harmonious and slender line. The aperture is wide and well-proportioned, with a smooth interior in warm amber-brown tones. Considered a fascinating species for collectors, Ficus gracilis combines a lightweight yet sturdy shell, recalling the elegance of a finely woven fabric. An specimen of 136 mm, well preserved and of excellent quality, ideal to enrich a malacological collection with an example from the Ficidae family. Ficus Gracilis Sowerby G. B.
