Elegant Art Déco Clip with Diamonds in Platinum, France 1940ies

Here is a piece of jewelry that is probably more typical of the elegant Art Deco era than almost any other: a clip. The special thing about the clip is that it could be worn not just on the lapel, but anywhere on the dress, on the belt, on the bag and even in the hair. Often worn as a pair, but also individually, they could be used to create surprising accents that were previously impossible. Our specimen is sumptuously decorated. A total of 63 diamonds weighing not quite two carats are set in platinum. The design of the roughly triangular brooch represents a bulging, stylized fabric hanging. This type of design is therefore also known in English as "drapery jewelry". They are typical of the 1940s. The underlying clip plate with the two pins is made of high-carat white gold. According to the hallmarks, the brooch was made in France. It is in very good condition and is a beautiful testimony to jewellery from the glamorous Art Deco era.
