English porcelain plaque, ‘Byron’s Dream’, probably Davenport, c. 1835. The plaque, finely painted after James Duffield Harding, with figures resting before the classical Greek ruins of the Erechtheion temple, near the Acropolis, Athens. Byron naps on a rug, before a column, whilst his companions are engaged in conversation amongst the ruins. Their camels graze before the temple. Original gilt wood frame.
