English School, 19th century A view of Dunvegan Castle, Isle of Skye

indistinctly signed and dated 'W.B.../1894' l.r., oil on canvas, 46 x 81cm; framed 68 x 103cm, Condition Report, Condition Report, The painting is backed with hessian, however the canvas appears to be lined. Craquelure. Light surface dirt. Examined under UV light several patches of retouching show in the upper right quarter, including to the castle and the sky. There is a large area of overpaint to the sky and overgrowth in the upper left quater where it appears the canvas may have been repaired, with some light ripples to the canvas in the same area.
